Let us talk about sex baby…

I have been called many things…a libertard, a prude, politically correct to name the nicer ones.

So here is one more to add to the list …Sexually correct.

Without doubt, you have seen this picture of a bed sheet hanging outside a house in Waterloo for Laurier Homecoming but it was some of the comments that got my attention.

Johnny 6 “How is this offensive…the message could mean 100’s of things”

@Andrew Previn “the sign references 18 years old…that is the age of consent”

In this age of the #metoo movement, the belief that women should accept that they are sexual fodder to men is over. The day of having to dress a certain way, watch your language, be careful not to give off the wrong impression….is done. When a sign like this goes up, it just tells young women, welcome to the jungle. Your rights are gone, university is not about your education-it is about our sexual appetite for young girls that have just left the protection of their parent’s house.

If I have not convinced you, the Canadian Federation of students fact sheet– Ontario notes that many of on campus assaults occur in the first 8 weeks of the school year and 50% occurring during the first year at school.

The world is changing. Those who have had free rein are concerned their rights to top are being challenged and they are choosing the oldest trick in the book – sexual intimidation.

This is not new. The photo above is  typical of US fraternities that operate under the banner of free speech. Is it really free speech if it is at the expense of others? Apparently, the Waterloo police has better understanding of free speech – they took the bed sheet down.

It is our belief that in Canada, women’s rights carry the same weight as men’s – that is what makes Canada, Canada.
